Netflix Shows to Watch if you Love Travelling

Meru

R | 1 Hour 30 min | Documentary, Adventure, Action

Three elite climbers struggle to find their way through obsession and loss as they attempt to climb Mount Meru, one of the most coveted prizes in the high stakes game of Himalayan big wall climbing.

If you love mountains, climbing culture and people with extra ordinary will then you will love this movie. This is a documentary but very gripping and doesn't let you loose interest for a minute. The back stories of the climbers make you relate to their struggle and point of view. It is a very underrated movie and you will love it. 5/5 rating from me.

Jack Whitehall: Travels with my Father

30 min | Reality TV, Comedy, Travel

Jack and Michael begin their journey in Bangkok and immediately clash over accommodations, then visit an odd temple and attend an elephant polo match.

This show is a great mixture of travelling and comedy. Jack(the son who is a stand-up comedian) puts his father(Michael) into some hilarious situations. Michael is a snob and the worst choice to take along with you for a gap year. Somehow their unusual chemistry is really entertaining. You get to see the culture, places they visit and the father's shocking reactions to most things. If you love happy go lucky travelling then this will be really entertaining for you. 4.5/5 rating and I wish there
is a second season as well.

An Idiot Abroad

43min | Documentary, Adventure, Comedy | TV Series (2010–2013)

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant send reluctant traveler Karl Pilkington on a trip to see the Great Wall of China.

Imagine Homer Simpson being sent on to explore the world, eat bizarre food and experience totally different cultures. This show is exactly like this. Karl Pilkinton's inability to enjoy what the world has to offer results in some hilarious situations. Apart from the awkward funny situations, you get to see the world without much makeup and hyperbole. I thoroughly enjoyed this show. 4.5/5 rating.

Given

1h 12min | Documentary, Adventure, Family

A surfing adventure across 15 countries gives a young boy from Kauai an opportunity to widen his horizons and gain a deeper understanding of life.

One of the most beautiful things I've seen on TV. It is beautifully shot, the narration from child's perspective is sweet and innocent which goes well with beautiful slow music. 5/5 rating from me.

Paul Hollywood's Big Continental Road Trip

60 min episode | mini series | Reality Show, Travel

Paul explores the intersecting philosophies of cars and cuisine on an illuminating visit to the City of Lights and beyond.

If you love cars and exploring culture then you will like this show. His quest to connect the culture of a country with the cars they build creates interesting conversations with locals. 3.5/5 rating from me.
